Business Honor Society Inducts 41 New Student Members

GREENSBORO, N.C. Noted as the best and brightest among their peers, 41 students in the Bryan School of Business and Economics at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro were inducted into the prestigious business honor society Beta Gamma Sigma this spring.


UNCG Chancellor Linda P. Brady was also inducted as a member of the international honor society along with eight faculty members.


Students ranking in the top 10 percent of the baccalaureate and top 20 percent of graduate programs at schools accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business – are eligible for this invitation. The organization has more than 560,000 members worldwide.


The following students were inducted into the UNCG chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma:

Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society was founded as a national organization on Feb. 19, 1913. The first national honor society in business, it was a merger of three separate societies established to honor academic achievement in business at the University of Wisconsin,the University of Illinois and the University of California.


The UNCG chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma received the society’s highest prize, the Gold Award, this year for its excellence in programming and operations and superior level of membership acceptance.


The Bryan School is the largest of UNCG’s seven professional schools with 400 graduate students and 2,200 undergraduates. It is accredited by AACSB International and is among the top 10 percent of business schools nationwide that have earned accreditation at the undergraduate and graduate levels in both business and accounting.
