Faculty Members Receive Year-End Awards for Teaching Excellence

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Faculty members at UNCG have received awards for teaching excellence for the 2008-09 year.
Each of the winners received a cash award during events in April, May or at ceremonies over the May 15-16 commencement weekend. The awards are provided by UNC General Administration, which allocates funds for all 17 campuses in the UNC system to reward faculty members for excellence in teaching within their academic colleges and professional schools. The winners are:
- School of Human Environmental Sciences, Dr. Nancy Nelson Hodges, Department of Consumer, Apparel and Retail Studies.
- Bryan School of Business and Economics, Dr. Llewellyn Brown, Department of Business Administration, and Dr. Michelle Sheran, Department of Economics.
- School of Music, Dr. Irna Priore.
- College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Nadja Cech, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Miriam Aziza Stephan, Department of Art.
- School of Education, Dr. Ann Harrington, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and Sam Parker, Department of Specialized Education Services
- School of Health and Human Performance, Dr. Robert Strack, Department of Public Health Education.
- School of Nursing, Dr. Dorothy Herron, Department of Adult Health.
