Certification Speaks Volumes

University Colors. Unit Navigation. Section 508. Authentication.

Do you know how these issues impact your Unit's Web presence? Did you know there could be legal consequences for UNCG if web sites fail to comply with Federal and State laws?

The University's Web Oversight Committee (WOC) has established standards and policies for UNCG web sites. But the Web is maturing and the knowledge and skills needed to create an effective web site are more complex.

The WOC Web3 Certification Program assists Units in achieving UNCG Web Excellence by equipping web workers with the knowledge and skills required to meet and exceed University standards and policies.

The Program consists of three levels:

  1. Unit Maintainer, an individual who is charged with keeping an existing unit web site current
  2. Unit Designer, an individual charged with developing new web sites and online marketing efforts
  3. Application Developer, an individual charged with developing interactive web components

The Program is comprised of a mix of online training (Element K) and hands-on UNCG specific workshops. All courses include online assessments. All hands-on classes will be taught by members of the Web3 Project Team or Information Technology Services.
