Wrapper Availability

The UNCG Web3 Accessible Wrapper is currently available on UNCG's UNIX and Windows (ADS) servers. There are several implementations.

The wrapper is comprised of multiple files. These files are one of three kinds:

UNCG Included Content

These files contain the bulk of the processing and produce the XHTML that is the same across all UNCG units. Currently the UNCG Included Content files are installed at the root level of UNCG webservers that have the wrapper. These files live in a directory named inc_uncg on the different UNCG servers.

The wrapper is available on UNCG's Unix server (www.uncg.edu) and is written in the following language:

  • Server-Side Includes (SSI)

The wrapper is available on UNCG's Windows (ADS) servers (web.uncg.edu and web-d.uncg.edu). It is available in the following languages:

  • Active Server Pages (ASP)
  • PHP

You do not install these files.

UNCG Global Stylistic Files

These files contain the bulk of the stylistic preferences designed to yield the UNCG Web3 branding. These files, which include CSS files for screen and print, as well as UNCG-specific images, like the Logo, are located in a dirctory named global_uncg on the UNIX server. You can view these files online at http://www.uncg.edu/global_uncg/

images
Contains all images used by the wrapper
script
Contains all wrapper javascript code, such as script used to operate the campus links dropdown menu
style
Contains all Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), include those for screen, print and handheld devices

Because these file rely on HTTP to be incorporated into the wrapper, they do not need duplicated across webservers. You do not install these files.

UNIT Included Content and Stylistic Preferences

These are files which contain unit-specific content and style. These files are installed in a directory (typically named inc_unit) at a logical place within the unit's departmental webspace. This directory contains the files that make each unit unique.
You will need to install these files.
