Steps to begin your Research Project:
-
Select a trigger event by finding a person,
time and issue in the
history of psychology that you find most interesting
-
Find good secondary sources about that person, time
or issue
-
Engage in prewriting activities
-
Take notes from your secondary sources
-
Indicate on the notes where you found the information
-
Write down key terms and concepts and sketch their relation
to one another
-
Develop a time frame: Which chunk of history are you
dealing with?
-
Develop and outline that organizes the information
in your background
-
Sketch several candidate theses
-
Each should describe a specific relationship covered
in the background
-
Identify in the theses what is the influence and what is
the outcome
