Infants
We are currently recruiting 5 month olds for our infant study conducted in our lab at UNCG. We begin the study by observing your infant's motor skills on a mat in our waiting room. Then we move into the testing room where you'll sit with your infant while he or she plays with toys. All of the toys are meant to be interesting and age-appropropriate for your infant.

Each session lasts from 45 minutes to 1 hour. For this study, we ask that you be able to come to the lab once a month until your child is 14 months old or until they are walking reliably (whichever is later). For each visit, you will receive a $10 giftcard as a token of our appreciation.

Toddlers
Your child is only eligible to participate in our toddler study if they have already completed the infant study. Your child will come to the lab and play in our toy room. Each session lasts from 30 to 45 minutes. We ask that you come once a month beginning at 18 months until your child is 2 years old. For each visit, you will receive a $10 giftcard as a token of our appreciation.

Preschoolers
Your child is only eligible to participate in our preschooler study if they have already completed the infant study. The graduate students who work in our lab will come to your home every four months to conduct follow-up assessments. To express our thanks for participating, your child gets to choose a toy from our prize box!

Each home visit will last approximately 1 hour. These visits occur when your child is 36 months, 40 months, 44 months, 48 months, 52 months, 56 months, and 60 months. During these home visits, your child will play a pegboard game and complete various pen and paper activities. These tasks are easy and fun for young children! We also ask that you (the parents) participate in some of these tasks during one of our visits. Parents only need to do the tasks one time.
