Quantitative Exercise Set 1

Use the prescribed format for doing quantitative exercises.  This exercise set is due Friday, 9/1/06.

1. Compute the following:

a. What is the density of air, given P = 80 kPa and T = 0 C
b. What is the temperature of air, given P = 90 kPa and density = 1.0 kg m^-3
c. What is the pressure of air, given T = 90 F and density = 1.2 kg m^-3

2. Given a rigid sealed box with air in it.  If initially the air has T =10 C and P = 100 kPa, what is the new pressure if the temperature is increased to 50 C?
