UNCG in Rome

Summer 2010

Text Box: This three-week, six-credit course will offer first-hand experience with the sites and monuments of Rome, the capital of Roman Empire and the most important city in early Christianity. Through daily lectures and reports, extensive on-site experience with both archeological sites and museum collections, and further research to be done after returning to the United States, students will gain an appreciation for the splendor and importance of the city of Rome. In addition, students will be able to understand the reciprocal development between a society and its capital city. The program will run from May 19th – June 10th, 2010. The first ten days will be spent in Rome, followed by three days in Naples and Pompeii. We will spend the final nine days of the course back in Rome.
