About Me

My doctorate is in cognitive psychology and my scientific work centers on the study of human memory.  I completed my doctoral studies at Florida State University (under the direction of Dr. Colleen Kelley).  I also have a masters degree in counseling psychology.

I am originally from Armenia, a small but very ancient country in the Caucasus Mountains.  I studied psychology for three years at Yerevan State University in Armenia before coming to the United States in 1994 as a part of an international exchange program.  I didn't know much about Slippery Rock University at the time; the program placed me there and it became my "alma mater".  I earned both my bachelors and masters degrees from SRU.

I like music and play piano and classical guitar.  My husband and I also like to travel and make friends with people from all over the world.  I enjoy learning about other cultures and teaching about my own.
