Advanced Intermediate Web Exercise




Übung: Deutsche Theater und Bühnen

This is a computer lab exercise for advanced intermediate German which focuses on theater and stage productions in Germany. Students are asked to complete the assignment outlined below within 50 minutes or less. The exercise is graded as a regular lab assignment. Viel Spaß im Internet!

1. Open a world wide web browser application such as Netscape. Open a link to the following URL address, entitled "Daily Life" in Germany: http://www.uncg.edu/~lixlpurc/GIP/german_units/DailyLife.html. Scroll down the page until you find the headline "Die deutsche Sprache". Below this header you will find a link to "Deutschsprachige Theater". The URL address for this "Theater" page is: http://www.uncg.edu/~lixlpurc/german_WWW/theater_german.html

2. Enter a "Bookmark" for this German "Theater" page by pulling down the bookmarks menu, and by clicking on "add bookmark".

3. Scroll down the Theater page, and find the entry "Theaternachrichten". The URL for this destination is: http://www.tu-chemnitz.de/spektrum/94-4/39.html

Answer the following questions:

5. Scroll down the Theater page, and find the headline "Theater in München" towards the middle of the page. Click on this link. This will bring you to the page with the URL: http://www.muenchen.de/aktver/index.html
Scroll down the page until you find the link for "Tanzwerkstatt Europa '95". Click on it, and scroll down the new page until you find the link for "Neues Theater München". Open this page, and then click on "Switch Byron". The URL for this last destination is: http://www.muenchen.de/kultur/eNTe/byron.html
