Objectives

Upon the completion of this course you will:

use the World Wide Web as a resource for information and research in the areas of dietetics and foodservice
develop a resource list of URL for your major
create a homepage
work in the Windows 95 environment
generate computer presentations
maximize your use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database softwares
become competent in the use of selected nutrient analysis softwares
use foodservice management softwares

Expectations:

Your future careers will be heavily dependent on the use of computer technology. This course has been designed to prepare you to use technology in the fields of dietetics and foodservice. Please plan to attend each class/lab period. With careful planning all of the work assigned can be completed during class/lab with no out of class time in lab. This course is designed to reduce computer phobia and be interesting and fun.

Resources

You will need the following:

1-2 unformatted diskettes, high density
diskette holder
looseleaf notebook ( at least 2" thick) with dividers
