
Marian Harrison is a Lecturer at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in the Department of
Food, Nutrition and Food Service Management. She teaches courses in food preparation, quantity food
production, experimental foods, nutrition and computer applications. Mrs. Harrison joined the staff at
UNCG in 1992. Before coming to Greensboro, she and her family resided in South Carolina, where she
taught at South Carolina State University (1988-1992), served as District Director of Nutrition for Edisto
Health District, SC DHEC (1981-1988), and as a Clinical Dietitian (1980-1981). Other positions held:
Academic Coordinator at Baltimore's International Culinary Arts Institute; Director of Quality Control
and New Product Development, Mrs. Giles Salad Kitchen, Inc.; and as a high school science teacher.
Her professional affiliations include: The American Dietetic Association, North Carolina Dietetic
Association., Greensboro District DieteticAssociation, The American Public Health Association, Food
Service Systems Management Education Council, and Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society.
