Falling Spring Falls, VA. The drainage feeding the falls is nearly saturated with dissolved calcium carbonate (Ca and HCO3 ions). Surface streams up and downstream of the falls contain travertine ridges similar to those more commonly found in limestone caverns. |

Seneca Rocks, WV. Marine sandstones (Tuscarora Fm) are tilted at near 90 degrees from horizontal along this and adjacent ridges. |
