Life Beyond Work...

When I'm not working, I spend as much time with my family. We enjoy traveling, biking, hiking, and anything a toddler considers fun. Here are a few pictures of what transipires outside my windowless office:

Family (of three)...

We try to get up north (CT & MA) often to "vacate" and see family. These are from our most recent trip over the July 4th weekend (2008).

Hanging with friends...

I'm fortunate to have good friends from work, and we do quite of bit of hanging out off-campus!

We started a "working / new Mom's group," where we meet once per month at different restaurants in town for brunch/lunch (left). It's been going for almost 2 years now!.

Other activites have included - biking the Blue Ridge Parkway with kids in the trailer ending w/a picnic lunch at nearby winery, and renting a house for a week on Ocracoke Island, Outer Banks NC (above).

Traveling...

We enjoy both domestic and international travel... the latter of which seemed to occur more before-baby (but she'll have her passport soon)!

Planned trips for 2008-09 include (so far):

  • Boston MA(APA conference... some RnR before school begins!)
  • Big Sky MT
  • St. Louis MO (AASP Conference)
  • San Francisco CA

In London (2004), we've bought several pieces of art from the Tate Modern to decorate our home and my office. Thanks to a friend's recommendation, I always pick up something from Dinny Hall, a fabulous jewelry shop.

Rock climbing in Joshua Tree National Park (2002). Unfortunately the harness has collected a little dust since this trip... although NC is where I first got into climbing (at UNC's Carolina Adventures Program)!

In Paris (2001)

In Rome (2004)

A Kansas-girl enjoying a beautiful sunset on the water...
San Diego CA in March 2002.

Life in Boston (pre-UNCG)...

We threw one good party to celebrate our wedding in 2003. We had a fantastic wedding photographer, who took this shot of us post-reception lying on an old leather couch in the basement of the Harvard Faculty Club.

My neice and a few of her college friends came to visit in Boston... played tourist in downtown and along the harbor.

After running the Tufts Health Plan 10k for women. Quoting my friend, "It's a great day when thousands of women take over downtown Boston!"

Definitely more to come...
