Richard, after successfully graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Computer Science degree in 1998,
became the Systems Administrator for the Department of Mathematical Sciences in 1999. Full time employees of state institutions may attend
one course a semester for free. Richard used this benefit to obtain a masters degree
in Computer Science while working for the department. As time passed the Mathematical Sciences department
split into two departments, "Computer Science" and "Mathematics & Statistics", so now he
works for the parent School, the College of Arts and Sciences, and supports both departments.
