Dr. Roberta W. Rice has been involved in the visual arts and teaching
for nearly 30 years. She spent five years teaching in public schools
at both the elementary and secondary levels, and has been on the faculty
of the Art Department at UNCG since 1976. Dr. Rice currently serves
as the Coordinator of Art Education. She has taught both graduate
and undergraduate courses in Art Education.
Dr. Rice is active in several professional associations, especially the National Art Education Association (NAEA). She is currently serving as the Higher Education Division Chair of the North Carolina Art Education Association. She has presented many papers and workshops over her professional career, and has contributed a number of publications. She has exhibited her art work, primarily mixed media drawings, across the Southeast. Dr. Rice holds a Ph. D. in Art Education from The Pennsylvania State University and two degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University, a M. A. in Art History and a B. F. A. in Art Education. |
