Peggie Murray and the students in her Latin Club put up tombstones with Latin epitaphs in one graveyard section of a large Halloween display organized by Peggy's neighbors in Hillsborough, NC. The Latin students, dressed up as monsters and larger than life creatures, also stood along the road, near the Haunted House and by the graveyard to ensure the safety and security of those who came to enjoy the spectacle. In addition to promoting Latin in the community, this activity yielded $175 in donations from visitors. The money will be used to send Latin students to the national JCL convention in Richmond, VA this summer.

Congratulations to Ms. Murray, her students and, of course, her neighbors for a wonderfully creative way to publicize Latin!
