Take I-85 North to EXIT 120, Business-I-85. The Exit is on the right and loops back over I-85 before heading into Greensboro. Get off Business-I-85 at the first exit of Business-I-85 (on the right) which is the Holden Road exit. Take Holden road towards Greensboro (go over Business-I-85) to Spring Garden Street (you will cross a large street called High Point Road before coming to Spring Garden Street). Take a right on Spring Garden to the University entrance (the entrance is marked with brick wall and planters dividing the two lanes). Continue five blocks to Tate Street, and turn left at the traffic light onto Tate Street. Drive through a small area of restaurants and other businesses and turn left at Carr Street. Go one block along Carr and turn right; the McIver parking deck will be on your left. Parking is currently $1/hour; get a ticket from the machine at the entrance gate and when departing pay the large machine near the entrance to validate your ticket which you then give to the exit machine at the gate on the way out. I have some dollar bills ready for your use.
The Mathematics and Statsitics Department is located in Petty Building. From the McIver parking deck walk back towards and cross Car street one block further along Carr. Walk past the Day Care Center (put it on your left). Petty and Moore (Nursing) Buildings are across the street from each other. Petty will be on your right. The Math-Stat Department Office is in Room 116, and my office is Room 111, near the department office.
From Raleigh, Durham or Chapel Hill, go south on I-85 or I-40 towards Greensboro (and Charlotte).
Shortly south of Durham and Chapel Hill, I-85 and I-40 joint and run as one road until south of Greensboro. After about 30 miles, Exit onto Buiness-I-85, Continue on Business-I-85 and take Exit 128 E. Lee Street (Greensboro). This exit has a sign pointing to several colleges, including the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG).
Stay on Lee Street, 3 miles to S. Elm Street, over railroad tracks, and S. Eugene Street. STAY on Lee Street for one more mile, and you reach Tate Street. Turn (right is only possibility) onto Tate Street, go under railroad over-pass, and drive through a small area of restaurants and other businesses and turn left at Carr Street. Go one block along Carr and turn right; the McIver parking deck will be on your left. Parking is currently $1/hour or $6 per day.
If you miss the turn at Tate Street, continue 1/2 mile on Lee Street to Aycock Street (if you see the Coliseum, you went too far). Turn right onto Aycock Street. On Aycock Street, go through train under-pass to traffic light at Spring Garden Street. Turn right onto Spring Garden Street. Drive along Spring Garden Street; go through the campus, until Tate street and turn left onto Tate. drive through a small area of restaurants and other businesses and turn left at Carr Street. Go one block along Carr and turn right; the McIver parking deck will be on your left. Parking is currently $1/hour; get a ticket from the machine at the entrance gate and when departing pay the large machine near the entrance to validate your ticket which you then give to the exit machine at the gate on the way out.
