The Student Experience

  • Students will gain learning experiences and applied skills in the design, production, application, and evaluation of a broad range of media and technology for innovative teaching, instruction, training, and development.
  • You will work closely with your advisor to customize your learning experience to particular work settings you wish to be placed (e.g. higher education, corporate, military, etc.). 
  • As both science and art, students will learn the systematic process of assessing needs, identifying learning priorities, developing instructional or performance solutions, implementing instruction in a wide array of environments with an emphasis on online and mobile delivery.

After Graduation

  • Jobs for training and development specialists are expected to grow 9% through 2029 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
  • Upon completion of this degree, graduates may be eligible for positions such as these: instructional designer, training and development specialist, instructional specialist, educational technologist, learning specialist, E-learning specialist, curriculum developer, and instructional technology consultant.
