Public Republic is an annual public reading of the entirety of Republic, Plato’s famous treatise on justice. Each of the ten books will be read out loud, preferably with dramatic flair, by volunteer readers. Book one will be read from 8-9am, book two from 9-10am, and so on until we complete book ten at 6pm. Everyone is welcome – those willing to read, those who would prefer to listen, those who can only stay for a bit, and those who are interested in trying to hang in there for the whole thing. Snacks, water and seating provided.
Anyone looking for more information, including instructions to sign up to volunteer as a reader, can learn more at https://shorturl.at/lBEJW.
The more volunteers, the lighter the load, and the more robust our intellectual community – so go ahead and sign up!
