Exact rhyme occurs when the vowel or vowel and following consonant sounds are identical, or when the rhyming lines end with identical open vowel sounds (such as "pie" and "sky"). The following is exact masculine (one-syllable) rhyme:

The following is exact feminine (two-syllable, with second unstressed) rhyme:
