The Process 
TASK 1. Compare, Classify and Make Inferences) 

1.  Select roles for the members in your group and create a personal journal in MSWord. This journal will be used to write down questions you may have throughout this WebQuest as well as any other information that may help you throughout your journey. 

2.  As a group compare and classify the four travelers according to their character profiles and the activities or sports each would most likely want to include in their trip.Some activities and sports to think about are listed below.

Hiking Whitewater rafting Skiing
Mountain biking Safari City tour
Visit a volcano Go to a rainforest Visit Ancient civilizations
Go to a flea market Visit an old church Eat some typical food 
Go to museums Visit historical monuments Go to a folk music concert 

 

3. Identify possible problems associated with the diversity of the group and write them in your journal using MSWord. 

TASK 2(Gainingknowledge and Comprehension)

Break up into your respective roles and search the resources provided to find information regarding the country(s) where you can find your selected activities/sports.Use the guiding questions to help you through your search. 

TASK 3(Analyzing and Problem solving)

Analyze the information while taking into account the possible problems your group inferred in task 1.Do you have a solution to any of these problems?If so, write it in your  journal using MSWord.Remember the idea is to make everyone happy and do as many activities as possible in the 15 days while respecting a budget of $8,000 per individual. You must use at least 3 resources.Use your Internet log to keep track of the websites you have visited.

TASK 4 (Assessing and Constructing)

As a group compare and analyze your findings and select the countries to be included in your “ perfect trip” that are most suitable and cost effective for everyone.

Visit http://www.nationalgeographic.com/maps/index.html and print out a map of South America. Map out your route in the order in which you will travel and label countries, cities, towns, activities, sports etc. that are deemed necessary.Don’t forget to include the number of days you will spend in each place and the related costs.

TASK 5 (Application)

Present your “Perfect trip” in one of 3 formats.As a group you must decide on the format and the role each member will play in the presentation.

1.Oral presentation using PP slides

2.Virtual tour

3.Travel Brochure promoting your trip
