Assistantships

MASTER'S OR DOCTOR OF MUSICAL ARTS

SAXOPHONE PERFORMANCE


GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS


Must Apply and Audition by last regular audition date.

• Graduate Assistantships are up to $7,500 for Master's - $12,000 for Doctoral, depending on position.

• Out-of-state tuition waivers available to teaching or research assistants.

• Teaching and Non-teaching Assignments available

• Some positions may require a personal interview and/or augmented live audition.

A limited number of Fellowships are available to students with exceptional academic records.  The largest fellowships are $20,000.  Tuition waivers accompany the fellowships.

Fellowships are very competitive

Audition dates for 2011 Master's applicants:

December 4, 2010
January 22, 2011
February 12, 2011
February 26, 2011

DMA auditions scheduled by appointment, but wherever possible, they should be the Friday before regular audition dates (see above).

The application process includes submitting forms to The Graduate School and performing an audition for School of Music faculty.

The Graduate School application

1. Application submitted and fee paid
2. GRE scores (must be received by January 15 to be considered for Fellowships)
3. Transcripts
4. Three recommendations

School of Music Audition

1. Undergraduate Degree in music (Master's for DMA)
2. Audition Request Form
3. Pre-audition recording (for DMA)
4. Campus audition/interview
