Biography
Christopher Thomas has been a part of the School of Art since 2003, teaching courses on Drawing, Design, Color Theory, and Printmaking and as Studio Foundations Coordinator works broadly to support first-year art majors in their studio practice, portfolio development, and BFA application process.
His work has been exhibited throughout North Carolina and nationally at the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Les Yeux du Monde Gallery in Charlottesville, Virginia, the Baltimore Museum of Art, CAM Raleigh, and at Chicago’s A.R.C. Gallery. Thomas has also exhibited internationally at The Foundry, a gallery based in London, England, and as part of the artists’ collective The Printmakers Left at Graphica Creativa: The 12th International Print Triennial in Jyvaskyla, Finland.
He has been an Artist in Residence at the Atlantic Center for the Arts; Hambidge Center; Virginia Center for the Creative Arts; Penland School of Craft: and the Bischoff Inn.
