When it comes to paying bills and applying for financial aid, deadlines are very important. Here are general guidelines to keep in mind.

Financial Aid Deadlines

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available starting October 1 each year. In order to receive the best aid consideration, we urge students to complete their FAFSA each year during the Priority filing window: October 1 – January 15

If you miss this window, please still plan to file your FAFSA as soon as possible. We award financial aid to eligible students year-round so it’s never too late!

Students must file a FAFSA every year to continue their aid eligibility. Applying early every year gives students the best chance at the maximum aid for which they qualify.

BILLING DATES & DEADLINES

UNC Greensboro issues bills for tuition, fees, housing, meal plans, and parking each semester via the student’s UNCGenie account. Students and their designated authorized users are notified by email when a bill is available. They can choose to pay in full or sign up for an interest-free payment plan. Billing due dates can be viewed on the billing statement and are typically in the first week of the semester or earlier.

Scholarship Deadlines

New, incoming undergraduate students may be eligible for automatic scholarship consideration when they apply for admission by the priority deadline and submit a FAFSA by the priority filing date.

Current and incoming students should apply for scholarships starting in January each year through ScholarshipUniverse, UNCG’s scholarship matching platform that pairs your profile information with thousands of available scholarships through the university, academic departments, the UNC System, and outside organizations.
