About

Dr. Kwame Darfour-Oduro is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology. He received his Ph.D. and completed his postdoctoral research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests are in genomics, genetics, bioinformatics and evolution. Dr. Darfour-Oduro uses genomic data to understand how species adapt to their environments. His current research focuses on how introgressed genes from domestic pigs of Asia and European origins have aided in the adaptation of local pigs in the African environment. He teaches Genetics (BIO 392), Principles of Biology 1 lecture, and lab (BIO 111 and BIO 111L).
