Biography
Dr. Joyce Komakech Nabisaalu is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Department of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality, and Tourism (MEHT) at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro (UNCG). She earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration, with a focus on Entrepreneurship, from Oklahoma State University. She also received her MS degree in Entrepreneurship from Oklahoma State University and a MS degree in Project Management from Cavendish University Uganda.
Joyce joined the MEHT Department at the Bryan School of Business and Economics at UNCG in Fall 2025, after serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Mississippi. At UNCG, she teaches Family Business and Global Franchising.
Joyce’s research examines how institutions, social capital, gender, and hybridity influence entrepreneurial venture outcomes such as performance, innovation, and dynamic capabilities in both developed and developing economies. Her work has been presented at academic conferences and published in the Journal of Institutional Economics and the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal.
