Want in on an artsy hangout session? That’s what Art Club Troop is all about, people coming together from all different types of majors and levels of skill to hang out each week and have some creative fun. Brianna Smith, president of Art Club troop says it’s where she found all her best friends.

“I really learned who I can rely on, what i need to work on, and how rewarding it can be when you refuse to give up on something you really enjoy.”

Brianna Smith, president

Art Club Troop acts as a peaceful escape from the demands of everyday life. If you enjoy Bob Ross paintings, origami classes, crochet, and more activities with some supplies already provided, this is the place for you. Smith shares the importance of making time for yourself, especially when everything else in life can seem to be a mess.

We give students a place to pause on what’s happening in their own worlds and a chance to be present with peers who share the same interests. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come into art club, kicked off my shoes, and just let the day melt away for a bit.

Since many members graduated with the previous head officers, this semester we are working on spreading awareness about Art Club Troop and we’re really excited for what we have planned!

Artsy or not, showing up is half the challenge. Experience what could be a new skill and gain community along the way. Students interested in Art Club Troop can become a member through Spartan Connect, where they’ve linked their Discord for updates on meetings. The Art Club Troop is seeking head officers for the Fall 2025 semester.
