Areas of Interest/Scholarship/or Research
Dr. Kate Clouse is a public health researcher and epidemiologist who has designed, managed and implemented HIV/AIDS research studies since 2004. Her research specialty is in patient engagement throughout the continuum of HIV care, with a particular focus on South Africa. Much of her work has explored the impact of population mobility on engagement in HIV care, exploring this phenomenon among postpartum women in South Africa and adolescents and young adults in Tennessee. She has experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating interventions to improve patient engagement in HIV care, including studies using mobile health (mHealth), case management, point-of-care technology, and financial incentive strategies. She also co-leads a research study exploring the development of resiliency hubs in affordable housing units for medically underserved individuals in Nashville. Dr. Clouse has been continually funded by the NIH since 2015, including K01, R34 and two R01 awards.
