The fair on Feb. 25 runs noon–4 p.m. Employers representing industries across North Carolina and beyond will be here to connect with students from all majors, and their mentors are asked to encourage them to take up this chance to find internships, part-time roles, and full-time positions.
Table for two! Staff served up delicious French cuisine to students who cashed in their rewards for a chance to win a seat at this special dining event. It was an opportunity to enjoy delicious food and spend time with a significant other or campus friend.
At the end of each spring semester, UNCG recognizes a faculty member, staff member, and student who went above and beyond with the Gladys Strawn Bullard Award. Nominations for this honor must be submitted by Feb. 28.

Before February ends, you can take part in guided meditation, an esports day, an expert talk on healthy fats, and a women’s table talk on body image and self-worth, led by UNCG’s psychology faculty, Dr. Janet Boseovski and Dr. Ashleigh Gallagher.
Retiring basketball star Chris Paul is related to the 19th century Moravian potter Peter Oliver, whose story of securing his freedom from slavery and becoming a skilled artisan intersects with Dr. Geoffrey Hughes’ research into kilns at Old Salem. On Feb. 22, Hughes will take part in a free screening of the Finding Your Roots episode about Paul and Oliver, with a panel discussion and reception to learn more.
This year, the Southern Conference chose Dr. Janet Boseovski, professor of psychology; and Jessica Quattrucci, academic advisor for the Bryan School of Business and Economics, as representatives of UNCG on the All-Conference Faculty and Staff Team. They were honored at the men’s basketball Feb. 4 game.
Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creativity urges students to prepare for two upcoming deadlines. Submissions for the Undergrad Research and Creativity Awards, offering up to $5,000 in support, are due February 16. The deadline to sign up for the Carolyn & Norwood Thomas Undergraduate Research and Creativity Expo is Feb. 18.
Staff Senate seeks new members who want to work on new initiatives, advocate for their colleagues, and shape the workplace community. Through Feb. 26, employees can nominate themselves or a colleague they find to be passionate about making a difference on campus.
Using funds awarded from the Institute for Community and Economic Engagement, faculty from six departments will partner with local organizations to support local Karenni communities, representing refugees from Myanmar; and to preserve the history of a Randolph County church, school, and cemetery.
