Gathering data on students’ post-graduation success

Education student shakes hands with a representative at a career fair.

Seniors are meeting with their department heads and advisors, making sure they’ve completed all the steps to graduate. The Department of Career and Professional Development is asking faculty members to remind students of another task that is important to helping future students find the right degree for them at UNCG.

The “First Destination” survey tracks where students are going after they have walked the stage at Commencement. This includes any jobs they have lined up, internships, salaries, and whether they plan to continue their education in graduate school.

Students will receive a free alumni t-shirt if they respond no later than May 5 at noon. The survey will be sent from uncg.12twenty.com to their UNCG email account.

Or they can go to the survey here and log in with their UNCG email credentials.

These statistics are vital to the University and can help it better cater programs for future students, as well as provide career advice based on what other students have done in the past.

Additionally, the responses they provide will help UNCG’s departments and programs draw in more students for years to come.

Reminders will be sent out to the students periodically, but there’s a greater likelihood of responding when they hear about it from a faculty mentor.

It is important for Career and Professional Development to get responses from as many students as possible. Please speak to your students so that they expect this survey in their email and fill it out to boost the career profile for your department.
