The Bachelor of Arts in Art at UNC Greensboro is a comprehensive liberal arts degree with a grounding in the humanities and sciences. The program has two concentrations, Studio Art and Art History. Students in both concentrations directly benefit from museum access, a thriving downtown arts community, and built-in professional minors.
Bachelor’s in Art Program distinctions
Unlike a rigid BFA, the Bachelors in Art program at UNCG allows for flexibility to either focus on a specific medium, broadly explore different art forms or to study art history.
BA in Art students have a choice of two concentrations: Art History or Studio Art.
The School of Art faculty have developed two unique and dynamic minors. Each minor provides experiences that develop professional skill sets for a range of creative fields from arts leadership, entrepreneurship, social justice initiatives, community activism, and contemporary art practices. Bachelor’s in ARt student Experience
Art History and Studio Art majors have hands-on opportunities with the on-campus Weatherspoon Art Museum.

Students have the option to live in an arts-focused residential community alongside other visual artists. musicians, dancers, and theater students. Studio 91 in Cone Residence Hall features a 24/7 drawing lounge, visual art studios, and music composition labs right inside your dorm.

How to Apply to the Bachelor’s in Art Program
Students interested in the BA in Art complete UNCG’s undergraduate admission process and the School of Art application/audition process. Students are not required to submit a portfolio for the BA program.
