UNC Greensboro’s M.S. in Nanoscience with a concentration in Instrumentation prepares graduate students to use advanced scientific tools to image, measure, analyze, and characterize materials at micro- and nanoscale dimensions. Offered through the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN), the 31–33 credit-hour program combines interdisciplinary nanoscience coursework with specialized training in microscopy, spectroscopy, surface analysis, materials characterization, and other advanced analytical techniques.

Students develop an understanding of both the scientific theory behind modern instrumentation and its practical application to research problems involving materials, biological systems, and nanoscale technologies. The program is designed for students with strong STEM backgrounds who want deeper preparation for research, laboratory, instrumentation, or technical careers.
