Research
Topics: Instructional Communication, Learning Communities, Emerging Forms of Literacy
My research explores communication practices related to participation in learning communities and emerging forms of literacy. Three overarching questions guide my work:
– How do digital technologies reshape interactions within learning communities?
– What digital, media, and information literacies are essential for adults to succeed personally and professionally as well-informed citizens?
– What innovative methods should internet researchers utilize to gather data and communicate their analyses effectively?
My work draws from and contributes to the instructional communication sub-discipline and interdisciplinary fields of media studies, media literacy, internet research, and digital cultures.
