Bio & Education
Dr. Donna M. Duffy is an AP Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology, where she teaches undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral courses and serves as Director of the online Master of Science in Sport and Exercise Psychology program. She has nearly three decades of experience in higher education and more than 25 years of experience teaching and mentoring students in face-to-face, hybrid, and fully online environments. Her teaching emphasizes evidence-based practice, research methods, coaching education, curriculum development, and the translation of research into professional practice. She has served on more than 35 master’s thesis and doctoral dissertation committees and is committed to mentoring the next generation of scholars, practitioners, and educators.
Dr. Duffy’s scholarship examines female athlete health across the lifespan, with particular emphasis on concussion and neurocognitive outcomes, sex-specific factors influencing injury risk and recovery, coaching education, and the translation of research into clinical and applied settings. She leads interdisciplinary and community-engaged research initiatives that bring together researchers, healthcare professionals, coaches, and sport organizations to improve evidence-informed practice. In addition to her research and teaching, Dr. Duffy is actively involved in curriculum innovation and editorial service and is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments that prepare future professionals to improve health, sport, and human performance through scholarship, leadership, and service.
