Biography

Doug Parkes is a lecturer in the Department of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management, focusing on operations and supply chain management.  Doug teaches both graduate and undergraduate classes in Supply Chain Management.  Doug has over 35 years of industrial experience in the Specialty Chemical Industry.  Doug has served in many different cross-functional responsibilities including Technical / Research and Development, Marketing / Product Management, Production, Quality Management, and Supply Chain Management.  With respect to the latter, Doug has been actively engaged in many global ERP implementations.  Doug’s University experience focuses primarily on Supply Chain and Management and Operations Management.   This provides a nice linkage between concepts and actual practice in Industry.  Doug is a recognized Instructor for ASCM and teaches CPIM training classes.
