Get to Know Us

I am originally from Sudan in Africa.  I came to the US in 2000 and lived in Greensboro until 2011 when I got married and moved to Maryland.  I received my bachelor’s in biology from Morgan State University in 2016.  In 2022 I moved back to Greensboro with my daughter and husband.  I served as an AmeriCorps member from 2023-2024 as a Youth program coordinator and case manager at one of the community centers here at CNNC.  I have enjoyed working with the immigrant and refugee community and helping them navigate life in the US as I have had a similar experience when I first came to America. Being a child of Immigrants and being bilingual has really helped me during my service year. I currently joined the CNNC staff as a support specialist for the ACCESS Project.  I have plans to go back to school and get a nursing degree.  In my free time, I enjoy watching Friends and law and order SVU.   I also love exercising and going on walks.
