A practicing metaphysician for more than 30 years, Prof. Rosenkrantz started at UNCG in 1976 as an Assistant Professor and became a full professor in 1994. He served as Department Head for many years.  His current research is concerned with the nature of life.

Rosenkrantz has served as Parliamentarian, Chair-elect and Chair of the Faculty Senate and has a stellar record of service to the University.  He was honored in 2011 with the Gladys Strawn Bullard Award for Outstanding Leadership and Service to UNCG.  He has published numerous articles in the areas of metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of mind, philosophy of logic, philosophy of mathematics, philosophy of religion, philosophy of science and biology.
