James Lyons

Bio

James works in UNCG’s ITS Classroom Technology Support managing AV design and installation projects as well as supporting classrooms, meetings, and events. In this role, he supports UNCG’s commitment to public education and its mission of advancing access and opportunity for our community. 

In audiovisual design, his goal is to keep the people as the focus by communicating clearly while supporting their needs with high quality equipment that is easy to use. James has over 19 years of experience in Higher Education with roles in Help Desk, Conferences & Events, Audiovisual Support and Design. This experience helps him best assess the right needs and products for our classrooms. 

In addition to his work in Higher Education, James has worked in the live event/staging industry and video production. When not at UNCG, James also serves on the leadership boards of two local nonprofit charitable organizations.
