Research Interests

Dr. Sun’s research interests focus on the development of statistical methods for analyzing complex, high-dimensional, and correlated biomedical data. Current methodological interests include hierarchical and latent variable modeling, multivariate analysis, composite likelihood methods, longitudinal and intensive repeated measures data, statistical learning, and scalable methods for complex observational data. Her collaborative research spans biomedical and public health applications, including genomics, drug safety surveillance, systematic review, and digital health data.

    Brief Biography

    Dr. Jianping Sun received her Ph.D. in Statistics from Pennsylvania State University in 2011 and had two postdoc experiences at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle and McGill University in Canada, respectively. She joined UNCG in 2018.
