Get to Know Us

Spending much of her childhood becoming familiarized with social workers, psychiatrists, judges and case managers, Kate Evensen found stability in her schoolwork. Graduating early from both high school and college, she set her sights on guiding other young adults in the world of education as an English teacher. After several years spent in the classrooms of both middle and high school students, Kate sought to bring more of her lived experiences into her work, thus transitioning into the role of Youth Training Coordinator at NC Youth and Family Voices Amplified. In her position, Kate is able to leverage both her lived and classroom experience to create engaging training materials that tell real stories while also providing assistance to system of care partners across North Carolina.
