Nyisha Powell is a dedicated social services professional, advocate, and community leader based in Supply, North Carolina. She is passionate about empowering children, youth, and families by helping them navigate complex systems and access the resources and support they need to thrive.

With more than 15 years of experience in advocacy, case management, family support, and community engagement, Nyisha has built a reputation for compassionate leadership and unwavering commitment to underserved populations. Her expertise includes resource coordination, family advocacy, crisis intervention, and strengthening community partnerships to promote positive outcomes for individuals and families.

As a Community Family Partner and Case Manager, Nyisha has managed complex cases involving youth and families with behavioral health and social service needs. She has worked alongside families in educational meetings, court hearings, and service planning sessions, ensuring they receive the support, advocacy, and resources necessary to achieve stability and success. Her work has also focused on helping families navigate transitions, build resilience, and strengthen their connections to community services.

Earlier in her career, Nyisha served as a Direct Support Professional, empowering individuals with developmental disabilities through advocacy, skill-building, and person-centered support that promoted independence and improved quality of life. Nyisha earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and holds an Associate of Science in Health and Human Services. She is also a Certified Family Peer Specialist and remains committed to lifelong learning and professional growth in the field of social work and advocacy.

Driven by her passion for social equity and service, Nyisha continues to make a lasting impact by championing the needs of children and families and creating opportunities for communities to thrive. Above all, she is a devoted wife and mother who strives to be a light and make a meaningful difference in every space she is called to serve.
