Content Marketing Writer

Becky covers the College of Arts and Sciences, Esports, and Enrollment beats, delivering engaging stories for UNCG News. She keeps a keen eye out for stories that can be elevated for marketing purposes or tie in with brand campaigns. Her marketing background makes her a key writer on the UC team for advertising copy for website content, digital and print campaigns, script writing, and other promotional needs.

• Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, with Advertising concentration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill 1995

Get to Know Us

Becky graduated from the Journalism school at UNC-Chapel Hill with a concentration in Advertising. She lived in Atlanta after college, working as an Account Executive with several advertising agencies. Her background includes developing and executing marketing campaigns for clients in the restaurant, healthcare, hospitality and tourism fields.

Becky and her husband, Joey, moved to Greensboro in 2005 where they expanded their family to include a son, Sam, in 2005 and a daughter, Ruby, in 2008. There Becky juggled motherhood and volunteer work at her children’s schools. In 2016, she accepted the communications coordinator position at Starmount Presbyterian Church, where she helped to grow the congregation, and later kept members connected through COVID restrictions and shutdowns.

Becky joined the UC team in November of 2022 to share her wordsmith gifts and marketing experience with the UNCG community. In her spare time, you’ll find Becky running carloads of teenagers to sports practices, cooking for and traveling with friends, and enjoying an active lifestyle in the campus-adjacent neighborhood that she loves.
