Biography

Sam Chinnis is a lecturer in the Department of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management, focusing on operations and supply chain management.  Teaching both graduate and undergraduate classes, Sam draws on experience in both education and industry. 

Sam began his education at NC State finishing with degrees in Chemical Engineering and Pulp and Paper Technology.  He spent eight years in production engineering and management at Procter & Gamble and Federal Paper Board.  He then moved on to more operational roles at Ciba Specialty Chemicals.  His career moved from product management and marketing to operations management and finally director of Supply Chain, North America, for one of the company’s divisions. 

From industry, Sam started a career in education.  He coordinated the Supply Chain Management program at GTCC before moving to UNCG in his current role.
