  • MST 100: Understanding Media
    Introduction to the discipline of Media Studies with emphasis on industry development, delivery systems, and audiences in a changing media landscape.
  • MST 225: Film Appreciation
    Designed and implemented online course for UNCG undergraduates. Analysis of selected, significant motion pictures of the world’s cinema, from the silent period to the present.
  • MST 226: Television Appreciation
    Analysis of the cultural and artistic significance of selected television programs.
  • MST 321: Topics in Film and Popular Culture
    Variable topics; examines film as a reflection of and expression of culture. Individual courses have included “Horror,” “The American West in Film and Television,” and “George A. Romero and the Philosophy of the Living Dead”
  • MST 330: Cult Films
    Explores cultural contexts and technological developments that help form small but influential cults around certain films.
  • MST 428: Topics in Electronic Media
    Study of selected topics in fictive or non-fictive programming for the electronic media including genres, delivery systems, or other emphasis. Individual course sections have included: Alien Invasion Television and Conspiracy Culture
