Willow Burgess-Johnson, MSW, LCSW is Program Manager for the Youth and Family Voices Amplified Program and Project Director for Healthy Transitions NC at UNC Greensboro. Her extensive social work career has taught her the importance of listening to the real needs of individuals navigating complex support systems. Her passion lies in ensuring trauma-sensitive, family-driven services, and advocating for system-level changes to enhance service delivery. Drawing from personal and professional experiences, including her own mental health journey and advocating for her child, she champions the expansion of youth and family peer support in behavioral health services. Together with a talented team, we’re driving North Carolina’s system evolution towards greater accessibility and cultural appropriateness, ensuring that voices of children, youth, and families lead the way to wellness and recovery.
