“Bloom” Documentary Film Screening and Conversation

March 25 @ 6:30 pm 8:30 pm

Poster promotes the film screening "Bloom" at UNCG's School of Education on March 25.

The Department of Public Health Education and Eta Sigma Gamma is thrilled to collaborate with the National Birth Coalition, Guilford County Department of Public Health, Every Baby Guilford, and the North Carolina Doula Organization to provide a free screening of the new documentary film “Bloom.”

Join three pregnant couples and their doulas in “Bloom,” a journey toward safe, confident childbirth. Explore the vital role doulas play in bridging medical gaps and offering educated advocacy that safeguards against trauma. The work of doulas can be life-saving, especially for BIPOC birthing parents. In a climate of challenging reproductive care, “Bloom” celebrates those transforming healthcare, making it accessible and positive. Following the screening we will discuss the reproductive justice and birth equity themes from the film with an esteemed panel of local Black doulas.

This is a celebration of doulas during World Doula Week, March 22-29. Light refreshments will be provided.
