Another North Carolina Folk Festival has concluded with great success. Every year, downtown Greensboro becomes the focal point for musicians, dancers, performers, and artists who wish to share their talent and its cultural significance to the community.

UNCG is not only a sponsor of the NC Folk Fest, but its faculty, staff, students, and alumni made special appearances during performances on the stages, jam sessions in the park, a concert at Creative Greensboro, and art for sale in the UNCG tents. They present musical genres and instruments from around the world – including Africa, Europe, and the Pacific Islands – as well as the local soundtrack cultivated throughout North Carolina.

The College of Visual and Performing Arts Dean bruce mcclung welcomed festival goers during the opening ceremony. Students sold their artwork at Center City Park, and many visitors stopped to take a picture with Spiro and the cheer and dance teams or talk to students involved in UNCG eSports.

UNCG thanks everyone who came out to hear the music and support the Spartan artists. The University is grateful for this regular opportunity to engage with the community.
