UNCG student bends over iron work still glowing from the fire.

Many alumni in the College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) were immersed in the arts from an early age. Others discovered their talents later on. No matter their background, all agree that they connected with their skills and hobbies at a deeper level once they came to UNCG.

Three new graduates from the Schools of Art, Dance, and Theatre represent what makes earning a degree through CVPA an experience like no other.

Claire Lewis, BFA Studio Art: Sculpture and Ceramics

With a love of creativity nurtured by her parents and an established business, Lewis knows a lot about the art-show circuit. UNCG took that to another level thanks to the iron work of Kevin Vanek, associate professor of sculpture and the Foundry Director.

Read about how she is heating things up.

Angelica Kankam, MFA in Dance

After earning a bachelor of fine arts from the University of Ghana, Kankam wanted a premiere experience in graduate school. She dived into her research of faculty and alumni from UNCG’s School of Dance. She knew she made the right choice once she immersed herself in the supportive community.

Follow along Kankam’s journey.

Erin Lambertson, BFA Drama in Musical Theatre

Auditioning for drama programs in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic was no easy task, but Lambertson saw something special the moment she logged onto a meeting with professors from UNCG’s School of Theatre. That first impression paid off, as she discovered a team that uplifted her artistic voice.

Discover some of Lambertson’s show-stopping moments.
