It’s no surprise that Team Norway selected UNCG for its base camp ahead of the 2026 World Cup. UNCG’s soccer program has a championship legacy that runs deep.
The Spartans won five NCAA National Championships when they were Division III in the 80’s. More recently, the Spartans have advanced to the Sweet Sixteen round three times since the program was elevated to Division I in 1991. The most recent of these was last year’s team!
